This is one that will score you some points with the ladies. On the other hand; ladies you can show up your man by whipping this project out in no time.
I measured and cut the 1 x 2's to the frame dimensions. The dowels need to be inset 3/8" deep into either side of the frame and will be glued in place. So the frame being 16" in width means you have to cut the dowels to 15 1/4".
In this picture I was setting the depth gauge stop by placing a 3/8" piece of wood and lowering the bit to make contact. With the depth gauge locked; each hole will be exactly 3/8" deep.
